Chimney Rock Village Planning Board Meeting- October 17, 2006
All members were present.
Approval of the minutes and agenda- Peter made the motion to approve and Ann seconded. Passed
Public Comments: None
Public Hearing on Subdivision regulations-Article VIII Section 8.07, Access to lot:
Bill stated that this change was recommended by the County Planner and our engineers. Peter made a motion to open Public Hearing with Ann second. Motion passed.
Public comments: Dr. Wald stated he strongly supported this issue. There were no other comments. Peter made a motion to close Public Hearing, with Ann' seconded. Motion passed. There was some discussion following about the definition of publicly dedicated road. Bill stated that the wording did not prohibit passage through a private road. The board affirmed their support for this change in regulation and urged the council to approve.
There was no old business
New business: We have a request for sketch plan approval for 5 lots adjacent to existing roadway, portion of Section 3B of the Fall at Chimney Rock, Map 522, Block 1, Lot 41, submitted by Danny Brothers. All utilities are in place and the Chairman confirmed that all was in order for approval. Bill stated that he will sign off on this when the insulation on the water line is taped in place. Peter made a motion to approve subject to fixing the water line. Ann seconded and the motion passed. Bill told Mr. Brothers that he would need to get a geological study done on the stability of the last phase of his project. Bob Wald commented that we needed to clarify that we are asking for a geologist and a geotechnical engineer to do this study. This was so noted. Mr. Brothers was informed of this.
